RIVER PROFILES
The Bighorn River fishes five different sections for Brown, Rainbow, and Cuttbow Trout. Optimal seasons are March through early June, and September through early November. Fish numbers are quite good, with the average fish size running around 18" and numerous fish well over the 22" range.
The Greybull River offers private-access wade fishing for native Yellowstone Cutthroat Trout and Whitefish. Fish numbers are high, with many Cutt's over 16" and holding numerous large fish over 20". Some trophies in the 24" range have been caught from the Greybull.
The Green River fishes multiple sections for Brown, Rainbow, and Cuttbow Trout. A great fishery, optimal catching seasons are similar to the Bighorn, with good dry fly fishing in the heat of the summer June, July, and August. Fish numbers are quite good, and the Green River is arguably some of the best fly fishing in the Mountain West.
The Clarks Fork of the Yellowstone is a freestone river, so fishing is dependant on current river flows. Once spring run-off has settled, the Clarks Fork has excellent fishing from late spring through mid-autumn for Cutt's, Brown, and Rainbow trout.
